This section describes the prerequisites for Global 360 Imaging for
Windows in standalone mode, and where to find detailed information on
installation and un-install. This will allow Imaging for Windows to access
images stored on local and networked drives. For information on installing
the optional components to access images on the WMS Imaging Server (1.x)
and WMS Imaging and Workflow (WMS) platforms, please refer to Using
Imaging Servers.

What is Imaging for Windows?
Imaging for Windows is the current imaging product from Global 360 -- it
supercedes both Imaging for Windows Standard Edition and Imaging for
Windows Professional Edition.Imaging
for Windows lets users access and control paper-based information directly
on their PCs. Imaging for Windows users can view, manipulate, annotate,
print, file, and share documents. Additionally, Imaging for Windows offers
features such as OCR, and a flow application to streamline imaging

What are the minimum system requirements to run Imaging for Windows?
The following recommendations are the minimal system requirements, however
a faster processor and more memory can significantly improve the software’s
performance. Note that RAM requirements increase as the size of the
displayed image file increases.
- 166 MHz Pentium processor (300 MHz Pentium for XP)
- A minimum of 30 MB free disk space above what is required by the
installed operating system, plus additional space for image files
Can I run Imaging for Windows off of a networked system – not
locally?
No. The product license specifically forbids a "shared
installation." For example, the license states: "You are granted
a personal, nontransferable, nonexclusive license to install and use one
copy of the Licensed Product on a single personal computer or workstation
that is not used as a server. You may also install and use the Licensed
Product on a home and/or laptop computer, provided the Licensed Product is
used on only one computer at a time. "
Will Imaging for Windows run under Windows 3.1, Windows 3.11 or Windows
NT 3.51?
No. Imaging for Windows was designed to run under the following operating
systems:
- Windows XP Service Pack 1
- Windows 2000 Service Pack 3
- Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6a
- Windows 98 Second Edition
Installing Imaging for Windows
Chapter 2 of the Imaging for Windows Getting Started Guide
provides instructions on how to install Imaging for Windows. The Getting
Started Guide is on the release media.
How can I tell what version of Imaging is installed?
When running the application, go to the Help menu and select About
Imaging. Imaging for Windows will display the version number below the
graphic.
When I installed Imaging for Windows on Windows I received a message
saying OIADM400.DLL (or another file name) was read-only, and asking if I
wanted to overlay it.
If you are installing Imaging for Windows, and the installation process
detects that earlier versions of Imaging for Windows files are in use or
in system memory due to a previous operation, you are prompted to overlay
the file. Overlaying the file(s) preserves the full set of Imaging for
Windows functionality, and enhances previously installed versions of
Imaging for Windows with the version you are installing.
How do I install my application developed with the Imaging ActiveX
controls?

information on distributing the ActiveX controls.
Uninstalling Imaging for
Windows
You uninstall Imaging for Windows in the general way you uninstall
other application software. Chapter 2 of the Imaging for Windows Getting
Started Guide provides the necessary instructions. The Getting Started
Guide is on the release media and available in the installed program
group.
